Come as you are.

Amelia Larson

MSW, Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW), Approved Clinical Supervisor

Hi there,

My name is Amelia (she/her) and I look forward to connecting with you. I know that it can be a little intimidating to open up about what's not going right. My values of authenticity, acceptance and curiosity are foundational to who I am as a person and I use them to ensure a safe and non-judgmental space. I am certified to practice Narrative Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), Solution-Focused Therapy, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Process Therapy, EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and IFS (Internal Family Systems). When you feel ready, we can explore how to get you to a happier and healthier version of yourself. A complimentary 15 minute chat will help you determine if I am the right fit for you (Let’s Connect). I'm confident you will leave our first session together feeling a little lighter, with an idea of what your next steps are.

“I am honoured by the opportunity to walk alongside you on your journey to manage life's stresses and achieving connection, meaning, purpose and joy. I look forward to exploring where your journey can lead you.”

About me professionally

I come with over 17 years of working with individuals to help turn challenges into opportunities for growth and personal wellbeing. I have had a wide range of experience in the field and I am currently the clinical director at a large social service agency.

I identify as an eclectic and holistic therapist which means I practice various types of therapy and will explore all aspects of your life to tailor my approach to your unique needs and goals.

I have a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work (Wilfrid Laurier University) and a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science (University of Guelph). I am registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers - Clinical Designation, BC College of Social Workers, and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I work with residents of Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Yukon. Insurance plans cover my designations.

I focus on areas of life transitions, parenting, romantic relationships, anxiety and stress, and trauma reduction.

I offer both virtual and in-person walk and talk sessions. I believe in the power and growth that comes with people being in their own safe space while working through their tough ‘stuff.’

About me personally

You will always see me with a mug of tea in therapy sessions.

Outside of the office, my family escapes to the Rocky Mountains whenever possible (this usually looks like me trying to keep up with my kid on skis!).

When not enjoying the calmness that can be found in the beauty of nature; practicing yoga, mindfulness, reading, listening to good music, very casual running and other forms of self-care are an important part of maintaining my sanity in this busy world.

I've been fortunate to work in a variety of countries and cultures across the globe, which has contributed greatly to my evolution as a listener and helper.

Let’s work together.
