Amber Jerome

Registered Clinical Counsellor, CCC

Hello and welcome,

My name is Amber (she/her). I recognize that sometimes, the hardest decision about seeking support is the decision to do so, which is why I emphasize the importance of starting where each person is at. I have over 12 years experience working with people from all walks of life at various points on their journey from children, youth, adults, and families. My approach shifts to the needs of each unique person I meet; nonetheless, it aligns most closely with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and somatic or body-based awareness. I look forward to connecting to explore if I am the right fit for your journey (Let’s Connect).

About me professionally

I hold a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, but at its core, I believe therapy is about healing through connection and focusing on the values that guide us through life.

My background has been working with parent education, motherhood, women and families facing domestic violence, homelessness, complex mental health and addictions. I'm currently specializing in parenting and men's mental health.

I appreciate being able to support people virtually in their own spaces where they feel most comfortable as well as in-person walk and talk sessions. I work with clients across Canada.

I work with presenting problems related to parenting, depression, anxiety, self-esteem and self-worth, ADHD, domestic violence, and the traumas that often underlie most of these concerns.

Why I Chose to be a Therapist

About me personally

In my personal time, I am a mom, animal, and nature lover.

Water is my grounding place, you will often find me at a lake paddle boarding, swimming, hiking to waterfalls, getting lost outside, or tending to my garden.

On colder days, I like to cuddle up with a book because I believe that knowledge is power, and learning is a never-ending process.

Let’s work together.
